First office

Loan & Securities Company – a moneylending enterprise at 1A Duke Street, the corner with Water Lane, was the first office established by Alexander Bustamante. His later trade union operation, the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) was at the north end of the street. Miss Gladys Longbridge, later Lady Bustamante, worked with Bustamante in both aspects of his life.
